The 2007 Woodstock Fair was held on August 31, September 1, 2 and 3. The weather was great every day! Although there were no records broken, the attendance was good. On Friday, we had 30,555 people. On Saturday, there were 69,332 fairgoers. On Sunday, we had 77,500 people. And on Monday, we had 42, 160 people giving us a total for the four days of 219,547 attendees. Everyone worked hard to make this a great Fair. The main stage events were as follows: Friday – Johnny Lee with country hits from the 80’s and 90’s, Trick Pony with Classic Rock and Jim Spinnato, the hypnotist. Jim Spinnato was on the main stage every day; Saturday - The Bangles, Cherry Poppin Daddies and The Danielson Martial Arts Academy; Sunday – Jordan Knight, Michael Taylor, Quiet Riot and Nicole Taylor; and Monday – Stephanie Hanson and Josh Gracin. The South Stage was popping with lots of contests and many bands. Mike Bodanski and his Martial Arts School, Old Tyme Fiddlers, Ghirardelli Chocolate Championship, and the East Woodstock Coronet Band were on Friday. On Saturday, there was the Great American Spam Championship, the youth Donut Eating Contest, a group called Tall Heights, the youth Pizza Eating Contest, March and Heart’s Premier Party Band, Best Chili Contest, Charlene Cipoilone, the Senior Sunbonnet contest, the Magic of Derek Raposo and an adult Karaoke Contest. Sunday and Monday were just as busy with many more contests and groups. Annette Hamilton did a great job organizing this. Of course, we had our 4-day horse show with many classes including a driving show, hunters, western, saddleseat, pleasure, equitation, Arabians and many more classes. The 4-days of pulling contests included Antique Tractor Pulling, Ox pulling, Pony Pulling, and Horse Pulling. You had to see the entire animal exhibits with sheep, cows, beef, rabbits and birds, and the agriculture exhibits with apples, vegetables and even honey and maple syrup. The Agriculture Barn had things to see like chicks hatching, alpacas and lambs, as well as apples, cheese and butter to sample. The Brunn Barn had antique farming equipment and was near the antique cars and the one-lunger engines. There were crafts, paintings and photos, sewing, knitting and crocheting exhibits. There were pies for the State Pie contest and entries for the State baking contest. There were youth exhibits and adult exhibits. There were crafts on exhibit and crafts for sale. Fiesta Shows rides and arcades drew a lot of people. The food booths were great with something for everyone. The Better Living Building and Craft tents had many nice things for sale. On Sunday, we had a troop of ballooners fly right over the fair. It was a very pretty sight. It was a very nice fair and there was something for everyone to see, do and enjoy.
